Finally out!! Our story on the function of m6A in planarians is out in NAR!
22.09.2026
Constantin and Andreas (who was on paternity leave when we celebrated the acceptance of the article; see photo) studied the impact of the epitranscriptomic mark m6A on the viability of planarians and, in particular, on mRNA stability. We discovered that m6A can both stabilize and destabilize planarian transcripts, depending on the cell in which these transcripts reside. This suggests that the m6A mark serves as a versatile tool for shaping the transcriptome, likely depending on the differential ability of cells to decode the mark.
